    I love this comic, but as a biologist, I just want to point something out for biological accuracy:

    Manatees do not typically eat kelp.

    I’m not saying that they wouldn’t if given the chance- but the two simply do not occur together in nature. Kelp typically grows in cool temperate waters (between 43 and 57 °F), while manatees are tropical creatures that prefer warm shallow seas, mangroves, and rivers. In the Americas, giant kelp forests are also mostly a thing of the Pacific, whereas manatees only occur in the Atlantic.
